NEET 2020 – It has been confirmed that National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test 2020 will be the single entrance exam for UG Medical Admission 2020. Harsh Vardhan, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, announced the same few days back and now Ministry of Health and Welfare has issued notice indicating that Institutes of National Importance are not conduct any entrance exam for UG medical admission. Hence, AIIMS and JIPMER entrance exam will also be cancelled and done via NEET. The purpose of doing so is to set common standards in medical education sector, as reported by Vardhan to newspapers. NEET 2020 is due to be held on May 03 and registration will begin from December 02, 2019. The exam is expected to be held in offline mode for admission 100% MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH seats in India. NEET 2020
NEET is the most popular medical entrance exam in India. Around 12 to 13 lakh candidates apply for it to get admission in MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses. On social media, a notice is being circulated. As per it, no entrance exam is to be conducted by Institute of National Importance (INI) for UG medical admission. Talks to dissolve Medical Council of India (MCI) has been going on for years. However, now it seems that the time has come when MCI will be replaced by National Medical Commission (NMC). As per the NMC Act, here are few important things that all the students should know about:
- NMC will replace MCI and member of committee will be determined as per draw of lots among nominations sent by state governments, union Territories and State Medical Councils.
- NMC will ensure that NEET is the only entrance examination in India and no other exam is held for admission.
- Fees for 50% seats in all colleges – including private and deemed to be universities – will be regulated by NMC.
- Commission will also conduct National Exit Test (NEXT) after 3 years. It will be a single test after MBBS to (a) qualify MBBS (b) get admission to PG (3) screening test for foreign medical graduates.

How much marks you need in NEET 2020 to be eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats Admission
The candidates must need a certain percentage of marks to be eligible for the All India based seat allotment. NEET 2020 Counselling
The counselling of NEET 2020 is held for the 15% All India quota and the rest is for the state quotas. The all India counselling is done by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NTS is not responsible for the counselling. They prepare the AIR and send it to the MCC.
The counselling is held online, and to participate in it the candidates first have to register and submit the choices for the course and colleges. Then, as per the rank of the candidates, MCC issues seat allotment result. Selected candidates have to appear for document verification and then final admission is done.

Ans : No, NEET will be held once a year and in offline mode only. This has been officially announced by NTA.
Ans : The lower age limit to apply for NEET is 17 years. However, the upper age limit to appear for NEET remains a dilemma. This is because, in the year 2019, NTA announced that the upper age limit to appear for NEET is 25 years. However, the upper age limit was eliminated by the supreme court of India and the candidates above 25 years of age were allowed to apply for NEET, until any further notice by SC. The elimination of the upper age limit is an interim order. The case is still in court. So whether or not in 2020 there is an upper age limit will be cleared with the release of the NEET 2020 Information Brochure.
Ans : The 15% all India Quota means that out of all the seats available in the medical colleges of the nation, 15% seats are reserved for the candidates who score 50 percentile and above in General category; 40 percentile and above in UR-PH, ST, ST-PH, SC, SC-Ph category; and 45 percentile in the OBC and OBC-PH category. The rest of the 85% seats are made available for the state quota admission for other remaining candidates.
