PGIMER invites applications for admission to MD and MS courses

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has invited applications for admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) programmes for the academic session starting from January 1, 2015.
Important Dates - A. Last date for receipt of filled in application form is October 14, 2014. B.Tentative date of entrance test is November 16, 2014.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Candidates must have passed MBBS, or its equivalent qualification, from a university/institute recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
  • Candidates must have either completed, or due to complete, one-year rotatory internship training on or before June 30/31 December for the January session.
  • Candidates should be registered with central/state medical registration council.
Selection Procedure: The admission to the above courses of the institute is made on merit on all India basis, by holding an entrance examination by the institute, after issuing a countrywide admission notice. The admission notice is published in leading English newspapers of India.
How to Apply: The application form is available on the PGIMER website (www.pgimer.edu.in ), where the candidate can fill up various columns.
Fee:
  • For SC/ST candidates: Rs 800.
  • For all other categories: Rs 1000.
  • All candidates are required to deposit the fees in any State Bank of India branch by filling the challan form in the name of Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh (examination), in the Power Jyoti account no. 32211613319. Those candidates who have SBI account can also pay their fees through i-collect service no. 32222954695.
  • Candidate after filling the application form, must attach all the relevant certificates/annexure and challan form with the application and sent the same to Registrar, PGIMER, Sector 12, Chandigarh Registrar, PGIMER, Sector 12, Chandigarh.
PAPER PATTERN 
  • Eligible candidates appearing for the exam will have to appear for a written exam based on MD/MS courses.
  • Paper consists of 250 multiple choice question (MCQs) with five alternatives each and
  • single/multiple correct responses. Negative marks will be given for incorrect responses
  • marked.
