About the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum
- The Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum consists of Superintending Engineer/Electricity Distribution Circle as Chairperson and two members nominated by the Collector of the District where the forum is located.
- Every grievance to the forum can be submitted to the concerned SE office in two ways.
Method 1 : Manual The grievance to the forum may be submitted in writing to the Chairperson of the forum in the complaint format given in Annexure-I. Within seven working days of receipt of a consumer's grievance, the forum shall send an acknowledgment to the complainant.The Complainant shall be informed in writing if the complaint is rejected.
Method 2 : Online The grievance to the forum may also be registered online through this portal using "Petition Entry" menu and the online acknowledgement for registration alone will be received immediately by the complainant and its printout can be taken. The status of the petition whether accepted or rejected by the concerned CGRF can be checked by the consumer online through "Petition Status" menu. - The complainant can represent himself or through a representative of his choice to appear before the forum.
- Appropriate Order shall be passed based on the merits/demerits of the complaint within a maximum period of 2 months from the date of receipt of complaint by the forum.
- The proceedings and decisions of the forum will be communicated to the licensee and to the complainant for compliance.
- Any complainant aggrieved by an Order made by the forum may prefer an appeal against such Order to the Electricity Ombudsman within a period of 30 days from the date of the Order.
