NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the first shift of the
JEE Main Paper 2January 6, 2020, examination from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM in different cities across the country. Hundreds of students from across the country appeared for the Join Entrance Examination (Main) conducted for admission to various architecture and pharma courses.
Today, examination for B.Arch and B.Planning aspirants was conducted. As per information available, a total of 1,38,409 candidates have appeared for B.Arch entrance exam at 345 centres and 59,003 for B.Planning at 327 centres.
This year, the JEE Main examination was conducted amid tight security to avoid any unfair means or unfair examination practices. All the exam centres were under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with Jammers.
The JEE Main 2020 was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) and the paper pattern for B.Arch and B.Planning streams were different:
Architecture (BArch):
Mathematics (Part I) and Aptitude Test (Part II) was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode while Drawing Test (Part III) was held in Pen & Paper (offline) mode
B.Planning:
Mathematics-(Part I), Aptitude Test-(Part II) and Planning (Part III) was held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode
As per students who appeared for the B.Arch exam, questions in Mathematics (Part I) was difficult, Aptitude Test (Part II) questions were easy and the drawing test was difficult. Most of the questions asked in the Maths section were from textbook of class 11 and topics like calculus, binomial, permutations and combinations etc.
In Drawing Test (Part III) section, there were two questions of 50 marks. Students said drawing test was moderate to difficult level and was time taking.
Overall, the exam level of today's JEE Main 2020 1st shift can be said of average difficulty level.
